Everyone loves taking a sunny vacation, but there are certain inconveniences that come with spending a week with hundreds of other people at a beachfront resort. We could all probably do without waiting in line at the breakfast buffet for a simple omelet or waking up extra early to reserve a sunbed by the pool.
And we do know that too many properties water down the tequila for those unlimited margaritas (you know who you are).
Most of us are willing to accept all of the above as minor drawbacks that come with vacationing en masse. But if your idea of a perfect warm-weather escape includes complete privacy, then consider spending your trip on a private island in the Indian Ocean instead. It’s a totally doable option — if your holiday budget allows you to allocate $45,000 a night (plus taxes), that is.
